About the Trainee Scheme
As a Trainee Assistant IT Business Partner, you’ll join our two-year Trainee Programme, gaining exposure to both operational and project IT experiences. You’ll rotate across IT and business functions, building a strong foundation of IT and business knowledge. You’ll be trained to act as a trusted technology advisor, managing demand and supporting the development of strategic and tactical business plans.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting strategic IT planning and demand management
- IT change management and information systems coordination
- Business process improvement
- Business and third-party stakeholder relationship management
- Ensuring compliance with IT governance
The Programme
The Trainee Programme is a structured two-year development pathway, combining on-the-job experience with formal training to build the skills, knowledge and confidence needed to step into the IT Business Partner role.
Throughout the programme, you will:
- Complete a two-year professional skills course at our dedicated Training Hub in Solihull
- Follow a structured development plan with clear milestones for salary progression
- Take part in regular reviews with your line manager to track progress and identify growth opportunities
- Gain exposure to other departments across Taylor Wimpey
- Join the Early Talent community as a programme ambassador, representing Taylor Wimpey at careers fairs and school events
- Have the opportunity to apply for the King’s Trust Million Makers programme
Job requirements
- 2:1 Degree level qualification in a finance related field
- A Full UK Driving License or an ability to get to remote site locations independently.
- Willingness to travel between sites and around your business unit area.
- Full Right to Work in the UK.
- Required to be onsite for a minimum of 3 days a week at our Solihull Office
- Ability to find innovative and creative solutions to solve problems
- Willingness to move to a Business Unit within the Division for up to 6 months
- Great communication and stakeholder management skills
- Willingness to challenge the norm
