Summary
Our Finance team works collaboratively with other teams to ensure the business delivers in line with its finance budgets as well as managing the cash flow to ensure timely payments to our subcontractors. We provide comprehensive training and development, supporting your journey to become a finance professional.

About the Trainee Scheme
- Gain in-depth knowledge of Group and Business Unit Finance functions
- Rotate across Finance teams and other business departments to enhance your understanding of operations
- Invoice processing, systems management and reconciliation
- Supplier set up and amendments
- Banking and cash book processing
- Purchase ledger payment runs and CHAPS payments
- Payroll processing
- VAT and CIS returns
- Sales ledger invoice processing and certification
- Credit control and debtor ledger management
- Supporting the Group Finance function with its operations
The Programme
The Trainee Programme is a structured three-year development pathway, combining on-the-job experience with formal training to build the skills, knowledge and confidence needed to step into the Finance role.
Throughout the programme, you will:
- Study towards your CIMA, ACA or ACCA qualification, fully supported by Taylor Wimpey
- Complete a two-year professional skills course at our dedicated Training Hub in Solihull.
- Follow a structured development plan with clear milestones for salary progression.
- Take part in regular reviews with your line manager to track progress and identify growth opportunities.
- Gain exposure to other departments across Taylor Wimpey.
- Join the Early Talent community as a programme ambassador, representing Taylor Wimpey at careers fairs and school events.
- Have the opportunity to apply for the Kings Trust Million Makers programme
Job requirements
- 2:1 degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Engineering or a Numerate degree
- A Full UK Driving License with access to a car
- Willingness to travel between sites and around your business unit area.
- You must have a Full Right to Work in the UK.
- Commitment to complete a professional qualification (supported by the business)
- Strong communicator, written and verbal, with an eagerness to learn and develop
- Willingness to be located at our High Wycombe site (required)
- Ability to find innovative and creative solutions to solve problems
- Willingness to challenge the norm
- Passion to pursue a career in Finance
