Are you someone who loves using technology, perhaps you’ve dabbled in coding or just love working with computers?  GammaLabs is on the lookout for an Apprentice Robotic Process Automation Engineer (RPA) to join their team and help drive the future of automation.  

Main purpose of role: 

The main goal of this role is to help create, test, and maintain ‘bots’ that automate business tasks at Gamma. You’ll be learning about Robotic Process Automation (RPA) technology and how it can improve efficiency. 

You’ll assist with testing the ‘bots’ to make sure everything works smoothly and help solve any issues that come up. You’ll also support the development of new bots for different areas of the business. As RPA technology becomes more important across Gamma, you’ll have the chance to contribute to exciting projects and be part of the growth in this area. 

The purpose of the apprentice position is to develop your skills over time until you are able to move into a Junior Robotic Process Automation Engineer role. As an apprentice you will be fully supported and, with guidance from your manager and team, will become independent in performing your role. 

Key responsibilities: 

You will be taught everything you need to know, especially the technical knowledge, however, as an apprentice, you can expect to:    

• Help design, test, and build bots that automate tasks. 

• Keep track of and maintain the bots to make sure they run smoothly. 

• Monitor how well the bots are performing and make improvements. 

• Help to create easy-to-understand guides and training materials for using the bots. 

• Assist in finding and fixing any problems with the bots when they occur.

• Has a strong interest in technology and a passion for learning new skills, especially in automation and coding. 

• Enjoys problem-solving and making processes work more efficiently. 

• Pays attention to detail and takes pride in getting things right. 

• Works well in a team, communicates clearly, and is excited to contribute to exciting projects. 

To be successful in this role, you do not need any formal qualifications or experience. 

Qualification you will earn:

• Software Development Technician Level 3 

Skills you will learn: 

• How to use coding languages like Python and JavaScript. 

• How to think critically and solve problems quickly when things go wrong. 

• How to create and test automated systems (‘bots’) while working with different teams. 

Please note, you are unable to apply for this apprenticeship if you have already attained one of the following: 

• Software Development Technician Level 3 

• Software Developer Level 4 

• Digital & Technology Solutions Professional Level 6 -  

• Digital & Technology Specialist Level 7  

• Software Engineering Degree or Masters 

• L4 Apprenticeship - DevOps 

• SCQF level 8 - Diploma in Software Development 

• Software Traineeship (L2) 

• BTEC Foundation Certificate in IT
