About the role:
The Graduate Quantity Surveyor at Persimmon Homes Thames Valley will report to the Commercial Director. The role supports the commercial management of a range of housing projects. The position offers structured development and the chance to progress within a supportive commercial team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with budget compilations for housing projects
- Carry out valuation analysis to support project financials
- Support the process of appointing subcontractors, including preparing tender comparisons and certifying subcontractor payments
- After training, manage own sites, taking responsibility for commercial elements under supervision
- Provide ongoing commercial support to the wider team
Who are we looking for?
- Preferably a Quantity Surveying or Construction-related degree
- Ability and ambition to develop commercial management capability
- Willingness and capacity to learn how to value engineer subcontractor packages
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once under supervision
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Good communication and relationship-building abilities
- Organisational skills and attention to detail
- A proactive approach to learning and development within a fast-paced environment
Job Requirements
- You must have a full right to work in the UK.
- A full UK Driving Licence, with a maximum of three penalty points, and access to your own vehicle (upon starting the programme).
- A 2:1 or above in a construction - related degree. (When applying please include this in your CV).
- Three A-levels at Grades A*-C (or equivalent). (When applying please include this in your CV).
