About the Opportunity
At Hiscox, we believe in empowering early careers talent to make a real impact from day one. As an Underwriting Graduate, you’ll play an active role in projects that matter, develop your skills through hands-on experience, and shape your own career path in a supportive and inclusive environment.
What You’ll Do
- Make an Impact: Contribute to meaningful projects that support our business goals and help our teams deliver value to customers, colleagues, and communities.
- Learn and Grow: Gain practical experience in underwriting and sales, plus two secondments in different European locations.
- Collaborate: Work closely with colleagues across the business, building relationships and learning from a diverse range of perspectives.
- Develop Skills: Access structured learning, on-the-job training, and resources such as LinkedIn Learning to support your personal and professional growth.
- Be Supported: Receive guidance from your team, the Early Careers team, and a dedicated Grad Buddy to help you succeed.
Your Secondment Explained
In addition to your core role, you’ll take on a secondment in a European location. Secondments enable you to develop a broader set of skills by experiencing a different role, as well as developing your understanding of our wider business by experiencing work in a different European location.

We welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds and experiences. You’ll thrive in this role if you are:
- Curious and eager to learn, with a growth mindset.
- Proactive with the ability to make informed, commercial decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Analytical and able to think critically about challenges and opportunities.
- Comfortable building relationships and negotiating with clients.
- Open to feedback and willing to share your ideas.
- Motivated to contribute to a collaborative and inclusive team culture.
Our Commitment to Inclusion
We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone can be themselves and reach their full potential. We encourage applications from all backgrounds, and we are happy to discuss flexible working arrangements. If you require any adjustments to the application process, please let us know.
